After months, and sometimes a year or so, you arrange to fly to his or her country for a meeting. It is a time of anticipation and overwhelming joy. Until the frantic phone call comes. The person you have been conversing with for so many months is in desperate trouble. Whether it is because of an accident or illness, they need money quickly. Large amounts of it.
There is not a doubt in your mind that he or she is in dire straits, and you wire the money to him or her to insure that they are taken care of in their time of need. Then you never hear from them again.
This is one of the fastest growing scams on the Internet today. These people are carefully trained to have patients and to take the time to draw you in. they gain your trust, take your money, and throw you away only to do it again to the next person. It is estimated that billions of dollars are lost each year due to this type of scam.
It has grown so big, that Internet investigative companies have been created just to find the criminals and arrest them. Many have been found to be one room shacks and pictures on the Internet site falsified although the websites were terminated, the damage will have already been done to your emotions.
This is why you need to exercise extreme caution. You never know who is on the other keyboard typing you a message. This is not to say that this will happen if you choose foreign dating,
